12/28/2004 Sik World.com friends have come in from San Diego for New Years and will be at the Just Bills New Years Eve Bash on Friday Night. Sik World will be hosting a Death Growl contest to give away a Sik World T-Shirt. Bands playing will be By Product, Chaos Order, Prig and Cleevage.

12/19/2004 A Holiday note from the Chunksmaster. I want everyone to look back at this memorable year. 2004 exploded early with new bands and new fans into the Chunksofmeat community. We never expected this to go this far this year and at the level we did. In all honesty I remember telling Dewey, "I think the Chunksofmeat Metal Scene is going to die off". But by Feburary we had bands and new bands requesting tons more shows at Just Bills which is what led us to a new killer sound system. We led into June with the first Battle of the Bad Ass Bands not knowing what to expect and it hit off in a huge way. The 4 bands in the finals, Baine, Cleevage, Cast the Stone and Ununbiun gave us a show to remember which was also the one year anniversary party for Chunksofmeat/Just Bills. With SikWorld.com abored as a sponsor we led into August with the Infamous BAINE FEST that law enforcements tried to shutdown in a few locations in Jerseyville that week. Everyone Remember Bob (Cleevage) falling of the stage drunk while jammin? In the fall we announced the Chunksofmeat Recording Studios with Paul Moerke as the engineer. Paul had already Chunksofmeat band demos like Baine, Dose and Cleevage, later recording 06 Gauge and more. October became the 2nd series of the Battle of the Bad Ass Bands. Another killer 4 Battle's leading to the 4 finalist, 06 Gauge, Desecr8, Prig, and Cleevage. This show was the biggest of the shows to date drawing 200 plus people close to capacity at Just Bills. A Battle that boiled down to a very difficult decision for the Judges with Cleevage and Prig having the most professional performances I had seen in that club yet. With Prig taking the win, emotions were high and low at the most unforgettable battle we have had to date. Chunksofmeat Productions did 68 shows this year as I count. There has been many new friends made by all in this year at Just Bills and other Chunksofmeat shows. We grew as a family a community that will go unforgotten to many. I personally want to thank every band (which the list is too long to type) for the memories I and many others will keep forever in this city. A new type of metal scene was created with the right purpose in mind. I also want to thank everyone involved and who worked in the chunksofmeat group Dewey, Rikki, Crawl, Gennie, Mike H, Jamie, Chance, John, Robin, Dagny, Josh, Keegan, Mo, Bob, Ed, Audio Concepts, Paul Moerke and there has been many more that in some way contributed to this Metal Scene. As Chunksofmeat heads into having it's first New Years Eve bash at Just Bills, March 2005 we will have the long awaited "Chunks of St. Louis" Compilation cd released with the Bands that made it to the final Battle from the 2 series of 2004. The cd will have the Chunksofmeat story, pictures, and a song from each one of these bands. Chunksofmeat has schedule already in 2005 shows at clubs and venues where metal bands were not able to play at. We also will have some shows out of STL.  We are looking forward to keeping this all alive in the STL Metal scene in 2005. "Long Live Chunksofmeat"!

  

12/12/2004 Paving the way and Supporting the Metal Scene. Chunksofmeat is working towards a new foundation for the St. Louis Metal scene. As we roll into 2005, Chunksofmeat will be taking the Chunks Metal bands to different and new clubs. These bands are some of the hardest working bands on the circuit and in 2005 there will be an impression set recognizing the Metal Scene on a new level. Rock Island and Off Broadway are just 2 of the new clubs, venues Chunksofmeat will be rolling through. Chunksofmeat will also be hosting an outside concert to be announced called the "Chunksofmeat Fest". The famous Baine Fest will also be in the works going into 2005. The support for the St. Louis Metal scene has grown tremendously.

 

12/04/2004 Prig wins toughest Battle in a very close competition at Just Bills by Chunksofmeat Productions. Prig Battled against Cleevage, 06 Gauge, and Desecr8, 4 of St. Louis's true metal bands. These 4 bands stepped up as some of the best professional performances I have seen by local bands in this city. These 4 bands are truely bands that deserve recognition as signed bands in a big way. These bands battled to get there name on the Chunksofmeat Plaque that hangs at Just Bills, $500 and of course bragging rights. One of the best shows I have seen!

 

12/04/2004 Chunks compilation underway. Chunksofmeat announced at the Battle that these 4 bands and the 4 bands from the first series battle from June 2004 will have one track placed on a compilation cd called "Chunks of St. Louis Vol. 1". This cd will be out by March 2005 and will be in stores and used for promotional use for these bands. Bands who go to the finals in the Chunksofmeat "Battle of the Bad Ass Bands series", are only available to join on this compilation proving there support to the scene and professionalism on stage. This is well earned by hard working bands. Where ever those A&R reps are, I suggest scoping out the Chunksofmeat scene in St. Louis. You're missing out!

11/05/2004 OPEN Jam at Just Bills Rocked with all the musicians hangin out after the winner of Battle #2 was announced. I can say that was an awesome Open jam session we played. Playing with musicians from all different bands and producing like we did was great musical energy. The crowd responded greatly to the open Jam. Thanks to Prig for the use of there instruments. And thanks to all the musicians I played with and all who played together. AWESOME! We'll do it again!

 

10/29/2004 Battle # 1 in the Battle of the Bad Ass Bands II smoked ass. Animus, Infected by my own, Desecr8 and Chaos Order stepped up and put on the best show I think I have seen all 4 of these bands each play. They were all so good the judges claimed it was close on the points. The show was extremely energetic from start to Finish with a continous mosh pit swarmming for hours. Desecr8 took the reigns of the first Battle and they head to the Final Battle on Saturday December 4th.

 

10/10/2004 06 Gauge, A Chunks Premier Band. O6 Gauge, one of the most intense bands on the STL circuit. 9/12/2004 New Chunks Band ANUBIS, came into Just Bills and ripped a new metal sound to our ears with vitality. Anubis played Just Bills once before, but last night had us in awe. ANUBIS will be back for the "Battlle of the Bad Ass Bands II". Check them out.

8/26/2004 Chunksofmeat local band interviews coming soon to the Chunks World on the front page of Chunksofmeat.com. Mike Hackethal will start as a Chunksofmeat Interviewer to keep everyone informed of the inside scoop of local bands. This weekend Mike will start his interviewing with DOSE reguarding their upcoming cd release on September 10th. Stay Tuned!

8/22/2004 DOSE CD Release Party Friday September 10th Live @ Just Bills. The Bands ONCE AGAIN and SOFACHROME were invited to play the release party with DOSE. Dose will perform 1 and a half hours of music from there heaviest to the melodic hard rock. Dose will have the new CD "Fragments of Life" and shirts and more for sale. Chunksofmeat hopes this will engage other bands to have cd release party's through Chunksofmeat and Just Bills in the future. Go to the new DOSE web site.

7/24/2004 New Chunks Bands kickin at Just Bills. The past few weeks Chunksofmeat has introduced some new bands to the Network. Prig, Animus and Divulsion have stormed Just Bills with complete aggression. Chunksofmeat has been recently starting off the shows with a new band giving them a chance at the Chunks scene. These new bands have proven to be more than a great fit. Prig will be at Just Bills again this Friday August 6th. Watch for Divulsion and Animus to show there again as they are on our schedule online. Chunksofmeat will continue to bring in new bands. Thanks for supporting the scene.

07/14/2004 Bud Girls at the Chunksofmeat "Illinois Noise Concert" at Just Bills July 16th and $2 Bud Light while girls in the house. Just Bills is bringing in the Bud Girls from 9:00 to 11:00 on Friday 16th for the "Illinois Noise Concert" and Bud LIght and any Anhueser Product Beers only $2 between 9:00 and 11:00 while Bud Girls are in house. This show host the Chunks bands BAINE, SEVEN STITCHES, SIX GAUGE, and DESECR8
 

College radio station 89.9 WLCA will be Interviewing the Illinois Noise Concert Bands Six Gauge, Baine, Desecr8, and Seven Stitches. Listen at 11:00 pm 89.9 WLCA. These bands will be in the Illinois Noise Concert this Friday July 16th at Just Bills.

07/11/2004 Cast the Stone take's the win at the "Battle of the Bad Ass Bands" at Just Bills. They won the Final Battle of the 1st of the "Battle of the Bad Ass Bands" one point ahead of UNUNBIUN. BAINE and CLEEVAGE tied for a 3rd place finish. CAST THE STONE won $500 cash, VIB passes to the Chunksofmeat shows, SIK WORLD t-shirts, and their name will be displayed proudly on the "Battle of the Bad Ass Bands" engraved Plaque that was awarded to Robin of Just Bills for his partner ship and one year with Chunksofmeat Productions. This show was also Chunksofmeat Productions one year anniversary with Just Bills and it was the biggest of all shows we have had at Just Bills. Just Bills has asked Chunksofmeat to continue and to host another "Battle of the Bad Ass Bands" in November.

Chunksofmeat announces it's Recording Studios at the final battle and one year anniversary party at Just Bills last night. Paul Moerke currently engineering the band DOSE cd which will be released soon in St. Louis, has joined up in partnership with Chunksofmeat Productions. Several other STL bands like 06 Gauge will be recording in the Chunksofmeat Studios. Paul has also recorded for many other bands like Baine and has a long time record in engineering. A web page on Chunksofmeat.com will be available with all the information soon.

07/4/2004 Bands will be recognized and awarded at the Just Bills and Chunksofmeat one year partnership anniversary party held on Saturday July 10th during the Final Battle of the Bad Ass Bands. This will be an important night before moving on to the next phase. Not only will the 4 Battling bands be recognized, but many other Chunks bands will be awarded and recognized for several different achievements recognized by Dewey and Lee. At the end of the Final Battle before the winning band is announced, we will be awarding these bands in a special way and recognizing the Chunksofmeat and Just Bills one year partnership. I would say all bands whether you were in the Battle's or not, you might want to be there.

06/28/2004 SIK WORLD sponsoring the Final Battle of the Bad Ass Bands. Thanks to Sik World willing to sponsor us all the way from San Diego, Cal. We were originally introduced to Sik World through Janine the Chunksofmeat logo Artist, and Artist of the STL bands "Rumble Fish" and Axe Ministers" cd's from the past. Janine was in town before the Battle of the Bad ass Bands cranked over and experienced the aura of a Chunksofmeat Show.
