BIO:
Sacrifice. Not a sacrifice to the great Satan. Unburied has
sacrificed melody for brutality, intensity, and aggression. A Metal
band from the St.
Louis metro area influenced by (but not limited to) Pantera, Slayer,
Lamb Of God, Carcass, Sodom, Destruction, and Death. The sounds are
a mix of brutal double bass drums, shredding guitar solos, pummeling
rhythms, and
vocals equally influenced by Death, Thrash, and Black Metal. The
band
first started in November of 2003 but did not get serious until late
May of 2004. The band released its first demo on July 8th, 2004 with
Andrew Craft on Bass and Vocals, Tim Brown on Drums, and Dreathus
Harris on guitar. The Demo was written, recorded, and mixed in just
over one week from June 30th to July 7th. The demo caught afire in
the local scene and unburied played numerous shows after the
release.
In early October 2004 Dean Crosby, who has been by the bands side
since the first few days, joined the band on vocals. Dean recorded
his vocals on two early Unburied songs for kicks, but after jamming
with the band at a show in late august the band started to think
about a vocal switch. Dean joined full time and shortly after
Unburied started working on recording new songs for a second demo.
Marc Krushas joined the band in early November 2004 on bass after
the departure of Andrew Craft. The band continues to play locally
and recorded a debut album in January of 2005 released on February
5th at one of the bands shows.
Dean Joined the Marines in April 2005 and Joe Rabus joined on
vocals. We talked to Joe in the early stages of the band to have
vocals and he came in a year later and ripped it up. Joe's vocals
are far more death metal influenced than any other past vocalist,
however at the same time Joe can pull out the highest pitched Rob
Halford style power metal wails. Joe has brought in a much more
brutal influence to the band, and the band has never been heavier.
This is a review from Heavycore....
Here's a band who sent in their 9-song demo for review and not only
does it kick ass - but the production is very good for a demo.
Unburied hails from Edwardsville Illinois and has a bludgeoning
hardcore edge to the metal they play with conviction.
The musicianship is very good - with a great drum sound that is
tighter than a frog's ass with the bass player. I dug the crunch of
the guitars, and they added some nicely placed harmonies too.
Vocally the demo is strong - reminding me of Jamie of Hatebreed,
mixed with a variety of other hardcore influenced singers. Overall,
Unburied has a great aggressive sound that solidifies their hardcore
roots.
There are many influences I hear from Pro-Pain, Crowbar, and
Hatebreed - to even a hint of DRI thrown in for good measure. I
think these guys would be a good band to check out live. Get on
their website at www.unburied.i8.com to get more information on this
brutal ass band.
